Overview

The Jasenovac Memorial Site and the Memorial Museum

The task of the Jasenovac Memorial Site and the Memorial Museum is to safeguard the historical record about the concentration camp Jasenovac, which was established and operated by the Ustasha regime from 1941 until 1945. The Site’s mission is to preserve the culture of remembrance about the victims and survivors, monuments, memorial grounds, and mass graves of the former concentration camp system and to educate the public, teachers, and young people about the crimes that were committed during the Second World War.

The Memorial Site collects, researches, curates, protects, and presents museum materials and documentation about the concentration camp, and creates and implements educational programs, teacher trainings, exhibitions, publications, and commemorations in honor of the survivors and victims.
