Activities

European Sites of Holocaust Memory (ESHEM) is a network dedicated to safeguarding the historical sites of the Holocaust and strengthening their role in research, education, and commemoration.

Our key focus activities

Officially launched in January 2026, ESHEM initially focused on opening the call for membership and inviting eligible Holocaust sites across Europe to apply to join the network.

Once the first members join the network, before autumn 2026, ESHEM will begin rolling out a programme of activities designed to strengthen connections between sites, support knowledge exchange, and promote good practices in Holocaust remembrance. These will include the ESHEM members' first conference in November, capacity-building workshops, and other opportunities for collaboration.

Information about upcoming events and initiatives will be shared here as the network grows. In the meantime, you can sign up for our quarterly newsletter, “Imprints”. The first issue was published in March 2026, and the next one is coming up in late June.

Our events

As ESHEM grows, so will its programme of events and activities. Before fall 2026, the network will welcome its first members and begin bringing sites together through workshops, exchanges, and collaborative initiatives.

The first ESHEM members’ conference is planned for November 2026.
